shhh... secret squirrel

Well, I have been making progress, slow progress, but progress non the less :) .  I have mainly been spending some time getting to know WordPress.  Its been an interesting journey of trail and error (mainly error) but we seem to have come to an understanding.  I am for sake of time using some pre-made themes for the shell of my site and will start to tailor it more to my needs as I go.  I will be looking and making some custom banners etc in the next week or so as time permits.  Once I have got the site up to date to where I want it to be I can start to add new content.  I will be writing some articles on my past works and make them a little more presentable than what they have been in the past.  Once those are done I will start to look at focusing my thoughts on my next project (an unannounced UDK game for iOS).

I will also be taking a look at the new workshop tools for Portal 2 and will most likely do an article or two (and a map or two) on this.

Please keep in mind that the site is still very much a work in progress and a lot of functionality is still NON functioning or even missing.  Once ready I will make an launch announcement on my facebook wall and around some of the community forums.  Till then those people who come across my site please be patient, Rome was not built in a day as they say but I am hoping this site will be soon enough :)

Welcome to chrustec.net.  For anyone who has visited my site in the past you may notice a huge change.  The site is completely empty!!!  I have changed web hosts this week and have decided to retire my trusty old site and rebuild it.  Previously my site was powered by Joomla CMS, for a change I have decided to go with WordPress.  The site will grow and change over the next few weeks as I learn the intricacies of WordPress’ CMS.  I hope to bring a more dynamic feel to my site and start to populate it with articles and projects past present and future, with the possibility of the occasional tutorial.

Why did I make this change?  I felt that, although I have gotten comfortable with Joomla and it did what I needed it to do.  It was too clunky and cumbersome to accommodate for my needs hence the change.  I felt that my site needed to be streamlined and simplified to enable me to concentrate more on content creation rather than back-end maintenance of the system.

Anyway, enough jibber jabber… Time to configure this beast and get to the important stuff…  Making Games :)

It's a Trap!

Just testing the WordPress app on my iPhone – works great :D this will definitely allow me to update my site more often.

*Edit* – One thing to keep in mind is the app does NOT scale the image that I am aware of yet unless I missed the option so I scaled it down on the PC.  Great stuff though, for the first time in a long time I am ACTUALLY enjoying working on my site :D
